Victoria Beckham gets underwear deal
Singer, designer, perfume creator – is there no end to her talents? Apparently not, for it seem Victoria Beckham is to venture into the world of underwear.
It has been announced that the former Spice Girl is to become the new face of Emporio Armani undergarments, following her husband David, who became the male face – or should that be body – of Armani underpants two seasons ago.
He caused a media furore in June, when a giant poster of him in the pants appeared on the side of a Macy’s in San Francisco and he then appeared in Union Square to sign autographs for fans.
Victoria, meanwhile, will begin to appear on billboards and in magazines early in 2009, although she may have to gain a little bit more confidence, having once said she looks “bloody awful” naked.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr Armani said: “Victoria is a style icon, a dynamic lady whose influence and recognition will add great excitement to the continued international growth of our underwear business.”
