Gwynnie flashes underwear in see-through dress

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Gwyneth Paltrow has become the latest celebrity to give onlookers an eyeful of her underwear at a public event.

The 36-year-old attended the premiere of her new film Two Lovers in Paris wearing a lace dress that left little to the imagination for the audience, clearly revealing her white bra and knickers combo.

Paltrow wore a short white dress with spaghetti straps, which had a large panel cut out of the front and replaced with black lace.

She topped off the ensemble with black and white ankle boots and a black clutch handbag.

The outfit is a far cry from the actress’s once demure image, which she put to bed earlier in 2008 with a series of red-carpet appearances in which she wore thigh-skimming dresses and skyscraper heels, along with vampish makeup and tousled curls.

However, perhaps nude-coloured underwear, a chemise or a bodysuit may have been better on this occasion.

Panache do a great moulded body suit which could be ideal for readers looking for something a little more supportive for their Christmas parties – check out lingerieplease.co.uk to have a look.

Also revealing a little more underwear than necessary lately was Katie ‘Jordan’ Price, who wore her black frilly knickers and bra as outerwear on a recent night out clubbing.

I’m sorry, but your eyebrows and underwear are distracting…

Friday, November 7th, 2008

It may not be the first thing that springs to mind when considering your outfit for work, but is seems your underwear may be more important than you think.

At least it is to bosses at Leeds Metropolitan University, who have issued new staff with a guide to etiquette, covering everything from their eyebrows to their knickers.

The graduate trainees were given the guides as part of ‘manners training’ aimed at creating a positive brand for the institution, but some may think that the tips go a little too far.

For example, it requires staff to make sure their underwear fits – although it did not say if this would be enforced through checking – and to consider whether their eyebrows may be seen as a distraction.

Just in case a formal dinner is required, the book even suggests tips on how to behave at the table, including avoiding excess wine to ensure drunkenness does not ensue.

“It really is up to you to send out the signals that you are intelligent, efficient, interesting and an asset to the university,” the guide states.

We’re not sure what our readers think, but we found it reminiscent of a certain Harry Enfield sketch in which women were required to know about “fluffy kittens” and little else…

Cheryl Cole solves underwear riddle

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole was no doubt slightly relieved that she would not have to call the police on a spate of suspected underwear thefts from her garden – because the culprit was actually her dog Buster.

The Girls Aloud Star told the Sun that she had been confused as to where her knickers were going to, until she caught the Chihuahua red-pawed with one of her thongs in his mouth.

However, she may need to invest in some new knickers, since he unfortunately buries the ones he finds in the garden.

“My dog digs holes and puts my knickers in the ground. It’s disgusting; I have no idea why he would do that,” Cole remarked.

Buster is already something of a star in his own right – he appeared in the current series of X Factor cocking his leg onto a carpet as Simon Cowell looked on in mild horror.

Cole has recently announced that she is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief along with a number of other celebrities, including Alesha Dixon, Denise van Outen and Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles.

We would definitely recommend packing extra underwear such a trip away from civilisation – perhaps hipsters from Gossard or Sloggi might be more practical for mountain climbing than thongs, too.

Klum’s underwear dancing proves a hit

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Well, it’s definitely one way of distracting the opposition when you play Guitar Hero.

Supermodel Heidi Klum strips down to her underwear in the new advert for the game, which is already popular in living rooms up and down the country.

Klum, who is married to soul singer Seal, can be seen in the 30-minute clip rocking out to Old Time Rock & Roll by Bob Seger, busting moves made famous by Tom Cruise in the 1983 film Risky Business.

However, she finishes the dance wearing only a black bra and pants – which perhaps explains the clip’s popularity on internet video sites.

Another ad shows Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez, Tony Hawk and Michael Phelps (sports stars) playing in a virtual band together – but we doubt if they are causing as much of a stir as Klum.

The campaign is part of the publicity for the new game Guitar Hero – World Tour, which is to be released soon.

If any readers want to follow in the footsteps of Klum, we can happily direct you to Lingerieplease.co.uk, where the most similar item is Wonderbra’s Lace Desire.

Louise Redknapp’s new collection for Triumph is also out now.

However, a parting word of warning – don’t forget to draw the curtains.

Obama weighs in with underwear policies

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

With the US presidential campaign having cost more than any other in the nation’s history, it is perhaps unsurprising that the two candidates left no stone unturned.

However, the Democratic candidate Barack Obama went one further then his rival John McCain – by throwing in his views on underwear for good measure.

Obama – who could be the first black president of the US when the votes are counted this week – appeared on an MTV show in which he answered viewers’ questions.

One asked about whether he agreed with passing laws on regulating clothing and the debate somehow descended into the realms of underwear and in particular, people who show it off by wearing their trousers slung low.

Obama said that while he intends to pass more important laws than one requiring people to dress well, he does think people should pull their pants up.

“You’re walking by your mother, your grandmother and your underwear’s showing, what’s going on with that? Walking down the street showing your underwear. A lot of people may not want to see your underwear. I’m one of them,” he said.

Obama may not wish to look too closely at photos taken of Katie Price recently, then.

The model was photographed last month wearing her underwear as outerwear on a night out.

Lingerieplease come to mens rescue!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

With the festive season drawing close and all the puzzled men out there we thought it was time to pass our expert advice on to your partners so you get the lingerie you deserve.

Lingerie can be the most personal or dangerous gift you can buy so it is essential that you get it right, just follow our simple guide and you can’t go wrong.

The most important factor when shopping for underwear is the SIZE, this can cause quite a lot of offence if miscalculated. The simplest way to get your partners size is to look in her lingerie drawer and check out her bras. Be careful not to get caught though as you may look a bit creepy.

Next is to remember the gift is for her and not for you. Red, see through, crotch less knickers may be your fantasy but it probably isn’t your partners. The best way to play it safe is to go for more muted products such as baby dolls or Basques as these are still extremely sexy but are wearable too! Try pinks and black if you’re stuck for colour as they are pretty and simple. Gossard is perfect for sexy products that every woman will love.

If its for a special occasion you may want to widen your budget to get something extra special such as the Panache masquerade hestia basque which is £54.99 but she is sure to love it. It’s the little details that count so why not add some gorgeous stockings to go with the lingerie, check out our great range.

At Lingerie please you have the ability to shop at ease without the embarrassment of going into a store plus with next day delivery it is perfect for a last minute buy.

Give your partner all she wants this Christmas….a beautiful set of lingerie!

Underwear draws fury from feminist groups

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

A new kind of underwear has sparked worldwide controversy from feminist groups who say it should be banned.

Admittedly, it may not be the most romantic underwear gift, but the Find Me if You Can set contains a GPS tracking system that enables partners to track their wives or girlfriends – wherever they may be.

Designed by Lucia Iorio of Brazil, the set comprises a bodice, bikini bottom and collar. The GPS sits in the bodice next to the wearer’s waist.

However, Ms Iorio denies claims that it is effectively a modern-day chastity belt, saying that it could be ideal protection for women who need to go out on their own at night.

Claudia Burghart, who leads a feminist group in Germany, told the Daily Mail: “It is outrageous to think that men can buy this, programme it and give it to their partners and then monitor them.”

However, the price alone may be enough to discourage women, feminists or not, from purchasing the underwear – it costs £500, or £700 for an advanced model.

Anyone less worried about GPS in their underwear and more about wearing stylish designs over Christmas could consider a visit to lingerieplease.co.uk.

A number of new designs for the festive season are now available that may be less likely to cause arguments and also to make such a large dent in your finances.
