Being a braologist could help you find correct underwear
Wednesday, January 7th, 2009If you’re one of the thousands of women in Britain who wear the wrong size bra day in, day out, then a degree in braology could be the answer to your problems.
Reporter Alice Wyllie of the Scotsman discovered the diploma and decided to try out for the qualification after finding that Bris spend over £1 billion on underwear every year – much of which could be the wrong size.
A number of people also regaled the newspaper with their own bra-fitting horror stories, which included being given different sizes in different shops and being fitted while still wearing a coat.
Ms Wyllie studied everything from the history of the bra to how best to judge if a person is wearing the right size (not too much give at the back, not digging in at the shoulders) before taking both written and practical exams.
However, she is now the proud owner of a diploma in braology.
Commenting on the usefulness of the qualification, she said: “I’m finally wearing the correct bra size and I’m rather enjoying telling friends that they’re wearing the wrong ones.”
British women’s breasts are growing, according to the Telegraph.
Ten years ago the average bra size was a 34B, but today it is 36C and an estimated 40 per cent of women take a D cup or above.
Any larger ladies out there will be pleased to know that lingerieplease.co.uk caters for cup sizes up to K, with next day delivery available.
