Lingerie Please have been working with ‘Bag It Up’ to recycle bra’s for charity in order to help raise fund for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We have received a huge amount of support and would like to take this oppurtunity to thank everyone who has got involved.

Due to the huge amount of success from this initial campaign ‘Bag It Up’ have requested that we help them with more charity appeals.

We currently support the following charities with our Bra Appeal:

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

We hope to further extend our support through the donation of all textiles products to aid these charities:

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, Whizz-Kidz, the All Ireland Air Ambulance, Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

It is estimated that up to 3/4 of the public’s recyclable textiles and shoes are just being thrown away, which means that they end up in landfill, which just serves to impact on our environment. By getting involved and donating your textiles you will be helping several causes because everything, where physically possible, is re-used or recycled.

Look out for the large textile banks that are placed at supermarkets, pubs, and community sites throughout the country. For some time now we have been hearing of the ‘Flesh Eating Underwear’ that threatens women worldwide. Crazy warning have circulated the globe via the internet warning women that they should wash all new underwear before first wearing it because it harvests flesh eating bacteria.

This has caused a stir, with many women panicked into stripped off as soon as they read the email.

Don’t Panic! This is a hoax. Underwear has never been proven to contain such bacteria and there is no explanation as to why this should occur only in women’s underwear, the emails have no mention of men’s undies or any other type of garment. Why would such a problem only affect one type of textiles product? What’s next… ‘Table eating tablecloth’? Or ‘Mattress chomping bedspread’?

It is believed that the emails contain some racist subtext about where our underwear is made and many think the hoaxer could also enjoy the thought of ladies quickly removing their underwear in distress.

If you receive such an email, please don’t be alarmed. Love you lingerie and relish your new items whilst they are still new! Trust Lingerie Please to inform you of the truth, ‘Flesh Eating Underwear’ does not exist.

Untangle your undies in four easy steps:

1) Throw away any old knickers that are out of life or don’t fit and donate any spare bras to our charity appeal. Make sure you try on all your old lingerie and be brutal; if your favourite bra doesn’t fit… it’s no good. If anything has holes in it, is too stretchy or has gone lumpy then it’s time for it to go. Our top tip is to try on any items you are unsure about in front of a mirror, that way if they are unflattering your decision will be made for you!

2) Only keep what you need. Make sure you have lingerie for any occasion. You should have at least 3 day bras, incorporating a mixture of styles and colours. You will always need a bra that matches your skin tone and a great strapless to wear under evening dresses. Of course you will also want some nice lacy numbers and knickers to match all.

3) Section your draw according to garment. Keep bras on one side (or if you have lots, in a separate draw), knickers on another and socks and hosiery in another. This will mean you don’t spend hours looking for that black strapless bra or your favourite skin coloured thong.

4) Hang chemises on soft hangers. When you want to slip on a cute little nightie for a special night in the last thing you want to worry about is ironing. You want to enjoy a relaxing evening, not rush to get the iron on before your other half arrives home.

A survey based on the sales of lingerie online compared to in retail stores has showed a rise in consumers’ turning to the web to find their undies.

The results show a 5% rise in online sales over the last year and many are putting this down to an increase in special offers or discounted products now available online.

Some reasons given by consumers during the survey showed that customers prefer to buy trusted brands online, such as Gossard, Wonderbra and Triumph. These brands were highly recognised for their consistent quality and fit meaning that consumers trusted the products and were happy to buy them directly off the internet.

A mistake many women make when choosing their lingerie for the day is to pair a white bra with a white top.

For those in the know this is a no no. Although logic and common sense would tell you ‘white top? – white bra.’ this is in fact a common error for many women. Although forgivable, wearing a white bra under a white top will leave you with a very visible bra. The two tones of white will not sit well together your bra will always show through and often the duller of the two will appear dirty as the brighter white will dampen down the other.

An even bigger mistake is when a coloured bra is worn under white, this is never a good luck and never forgivable. Unless you are going for the ‘I’m a teenager and carefree’ look you should always try to avoid this, at all costs.

This also applies to knickers, unless you are wearing coloured denim, when you can pretty much wear any colour, we suggest you stock up on nude knickers. A female ATM robber was arrested yesterday after footage was found of her stuffing $100 bills into her bra. The 34 year old, 36E was caught on CCTV camera giving her ‘assets’ a boost at a bank in Miami.

The local sheriff department was informed after a shop owner near by caught a glimpse of the robbery whilst checking their security cameras were all working. Keith, the owner of a motorbike shop situated next to a bank has commented ‘I first noticed the lady was looking a little shifty, with having a shop of my own you learn to read people… Then she started stuffing bills right down her top! I thought this was odd because she had a bag with her that she could have easily put her withdrawal in so I phoned the cops.’

The busty burglar was found minutes later by patrols men heading towards a popular shopping area.

When questioned by sheriffs the woman in question admitted that she had noticed a card had been left in the machine and didn’t think clearly before punching in the digits to withdraw $500. She further panicked as the cash left the machine and quickly hid the cash in the first place she thought of, her bra.

Later police received a lost or stolen report for the missing card and both card and cash were returned to the rightful owner.

Lesson learnt from this story: Don’t use your lingerie to steal cash… No matter how big your knickers or bra are!  Use your cash to get lingerie and keep on the right side of the law.
