The bra of the 50′s is back with a vengeance for spring 2010. The iconic shaped lingerie has hit the catwalks hard over recent catwalk shows with many key designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier making featuring them as strong outerwear pieces.

The look originated in the 1950′s and saw a brief boost in the 80′s when Madonna brought the pointy bra back. But now it is set to rise again. The Triumph Doreen Bra has seen an increase in sales of 33% over the last year. With strong trends for lingerie set to continue in the designer world we are preparing for an uplift in sales to continue far into the New Year.

Dior recently featured bras as outerwear, high waist knickers and on show suspenders in their Haute Couture show, the overall look was feminine and fabulous. To get the look this season wear your Doreen bra under a cashmere jumper with a pencil skirt and killer heels. This look is about celebrating your curves are releasing the woman in you.

Figures show that women are fighting of the recession with force. With a desire to use fashion as a form of escapism more and more women are turning to the shops in order to prove the recession cannot hold them back. In times when the economy is tough women have found a comfort in fashion. By being able to buy that new bra, or pair of knickers they feel they still have control over their finances and the recession will not revoke their feminism.

What ever your opinion is on the cone bra, be sure its back and is set to stay!
