We have all definitely heard of ‘Jack the Ripper’ but now thanks to some students in India, there is a new and preventative approach to ‘shock the ripper!’

An aeronautical engineering student in India has invented this great device, following the tragic and unjust gang rape of a 23-year-old student.

After talking to several women in hostels who feel threatened, the student came up with an idea for a bra that would provoke a 3800kv shock to any sexual predator.

What you may be wondering is how the bra can be worn, without shocking the wearer. However, this matter has been resolved by the bi-layer fabric used to protect the victim from any oncoming shocks.

Although the initial concept is quite useful to women feeling threatened, there is a lot of technicalities that need to be taken care off. The electrics embedded within the bra are still somewhat bulky, and need to be designed more delicately to bring the item onto the market.

Yesterday, I noticed someone on the train reading a newspaper with Kate Moss on the front page in a see-through floral lace dress. The off-white net dress was embellished in a variety of silvery, metallic flowes and subtly revealed a pair of pants that she wore underneath.

The picture from her Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week catwalk has been splurged everywhere from newspapers to online. It has caused a real impact for Autumn/Winter 2013 and seems to be a trend that will be here to stay.

Last Night saw Nicki Minaj, stepping out of her hotel in London in just a bejewelled bra, wearing a small cropped denim jacket over the top. The bra seemed to be struggling with the weight of her cleavage. Although compared to her cleavage, her famous bottom was covered in a pair of stone-washed jeans with built-in boots.

Last Month, October, was Breast Cancer Awareness month. Both women and men are encouraged to check themselves regularly for any lumps. Simply Be has made a name for itself by providing clothes for the fuller figured women. Stocking an array of lingerie and shapewear brands, the retailer is popular amongst many.
This week, they have announced that they are set to employ staff who are of a size 14 or above. The store does not sell clothing any smaller than a size 14, so the staff will represent the true offering that the retailer has to offer.
Whilst this may seem like a logical step to take, it may also segregate the retailer and make it inaccessible for people who are not of this size. The retailer may also be on the receiving end of complaints from all those who are currently unemployed but are not of a size 14 or above. With youth unemployment figures soaring by the day, is it the right time for retailers to be setting size restrictions for their employees?

The November Issue of magazine Esquire will see actress Mila Kunis posing topless as their cover girl. Branded the sexiest woman in the world Mila is seen in both topless shots and also in racy underwear with smoky eye make up promoting a seductive look.
Currently dating her co-star Ashton Kutcher, Kunis claims she will not let the attention she gets for being attractive boost her ego.

Helena Christensen has took a step into design by teaming up with Triumph to create her own lingerie collection. The supermodel has collaborated with top brand Triumph on a collection which is set to include three individual themes.  The first theme is Poetica which is said to include sexy underwear featuring lace design.  Ballerina is the second theme which focuses on the seventies era and glamour. Finally is the theme named Dahila which is soft and romantic separates.
Christensen was already Triumph’s campaign girl but she is said to be delighted at getting involved with the design side of things.  She claims she jumped at the opportunity and whilst having a team to support her, she was very involved with every aspect of the collection from sketches to mood boards.
The new collection launches in January 2013 and we just can’t wait to see the new range!

Selfridges department store will exclusively launch a range of comfortable and quirky knicker sets. The lingerie is said to include a Days of the week set and an around the world set with names of the most fashionable cities.
Made In Chelsea’s Rosie Fortsecue has been named as the face of the label, while her sister Lily has designed the range.
Each item is said to be designed ethically and made out of 100% Italian Cotton.
This is not the first lingerie venture to come out of Made In Chelsea as Victoria Baker-Harber also launched her own swimwear label earlier this year.

A poor baby seal found on Lovers Island in New Zealand was found by an onlooker and thought to be in trouble; thankfully he rang the Department of Conservation who came to rescue the distressed seal, however they did have to hike up a cliff 130 meters and spend an hour in the dark removing, to their shock, a red G-string that must have been left on the beach which is commonly known as ‘lovers island’. So the moral of this story, next time you are on a romantic holiday make sure you take your belongings home, as who knows where they will end up!
