Yesterday, I noticed someone on the train reading a newspaper with Kate Moss on the front page in a see-through floral lace dress. The off-white net dress was embellished in a variety of silvery, metallic flowes and subtly revealed a pair of pants that she wore underneath.

The picture from her Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week catwalk has been splurged everywhere from newspapers to online. It has caused a real impact for Autumn/Winter 2013 and seems to be a trend that will be here to stay.

There has been much debate over what is thought to be sexy underwear. Bjorn Borg brand conducted a survey asking women and men worldwide what they think is attractive. Naturally women preferred romantic feminine underwear, whilst men said anything that was flirtatious and a bit naughty.

Looking at the survey opinions differed between women worldwide, with the French proving to be the sexiest of us all. It also showed that Spanish women were rather daring when it came to their choice of sexy underwear and catered to what men liked. Other parts of Europe such as Germany and Sweden preferred plain and simple underwear, which equated to men as boring and frumpy.

Lots of women claimed that they stepped up their underwear choice when going on a date, but I am afraid that British men may be disappointed to know that us British women had the lowest score when it came to choosing sexy underwear for a dinner date. It is only dinner after all!

The collection is inspired by classic vintage styles that have all be designed to flatter a woman’s figure. Kelly has successfully designed a previous swimwear, clothing and a first lingerie collection for New Look, so this second collection comes of no surprise. The range features delicate lace detail, pleated satins, polka dots and animal prints. Fearne announced earlier this month that she is expecting her first baby, with her boyfriend Jesse Wood. Jesse is the son of Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones. Fearne has been spotted wearing looser clothing to adapt to her new growing body shape. Not only are there no more body-con dresses for Fearne for the next nine months she is also looking to new maternity underwear. Her friends at Radio 1 tweeted a picture of a maternity bra that Fearnes dad bought for her as a bit of a joke. We say give in to the comfort that maternity underwear can offer, but why sacrifice for plain, old looking bras just because you are pregnant? Here at Lingerie Please we are often talking lingerie and we fail to mention the bigger stuff that is going on in the world around us, whilst we love our bras and knickers one thing that lies close to our hearts is Breast Cancer. Breast cancer affects so many of us and is something that as women we truly care about. There is the Race For life and many other sponsored events to raise money for this worthy cause and we like to document these things as they make us realise as women we can stick together and overcome anything. It’s a very powerful message.

We were shocked to see that this 17 year old girl from Florida has created an IPhone app that can detect breast cancer. So how does it work? Apparently the app mimics the structure of the brain the program correctly identified 99% of malignant tumours and has won her a £50,000 scholarship from Google.

How fantastic is this? She has inspired hope all over the world at just 17 years of age and made a new breakthrough in science. We think its fantastic news for women everywhere what are you views? Leave us a message in the comments below.

A massive focus has been on lingerie and sex toys since the release of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ as people are starting to find passions they thought had dwindled due to the rise in popularity of erotic fiction.

One survey found that in a recent look at their draws the average woman has 34 pairs of knickers which are three times as many as 1999 when the average woman had just 12 pairs of knickers. Could this be because the price of underwear and clothes has reduced dramatically or are we just more interested in our lingerie draws?

Apparently the typical knicker draw contains 20 pairs of everyday knickers and 14 pairs that we reserve for our best pairs for dressing up or for the bedroom. Most women confessed to having two knicker draws one for their best pairs and one for every day.

According to the survey 61% of women are more likely to purchase nice underwear since the rise in erotic fiction in particular the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ novel.

58% of women also love bright coloured briefs which just shows us that women are feeling more empowered about their sexuality, choosing to read these books on the train and broadcasting their views about the book on social media.

Okay, so in the summer you are bound to be showing more skin than you would do in the winter which poses a problem for your lingerie. It seems to be a summer staple that in the summer evenings we tend to go to more barbeques, more nights out with our friends (as we don’t have to brave going there or coming home in the freezing cold in a dress and tights) and more weddings than normal.

All of these occasions mean that we are showing more skin than we normally would and therefore we have to reconsider our lingerie. So I thought I would go through the summer events you are likely going to and what to wear with what underwear.

1.) The summer BBQ

The summer BBQ is an English classic. As soon as the sun comes out we think of burgers, hotdogs and anything else we can burn black and wait 3 hours for! So if you are finishing work and going to a summer BBQ or if you are going to one at the weekend what do you wear?

Well considering the amount we will be eating, something like a strappy dress or summer dress that is loose around the waist and comes to above the knee is perfect. It means you can get the sun to your lower legs and also your shoulders (safely of course) whilst being cool and flattering to most figures. If you want something with short sleeves this too is a great look for a summer BBQ. So in terms of lingerie what do you need to go for? The great thing about this look is we don’t need any shapewear, we need some shorts rather than knickers just in case there is a gust of wind and if you have a smaller chest a great push up bra.

2.) Summer night out

Summer nights out to a club or for dinner with friends are the perfect opportunity to show off that bit of colour you got in the day. We like maxi dresses with intricate straps such as crossover straps at the back and shorts or a skirt and a top that shows your back.

So what lingerie to wear with this look? Well considering you are most likely showing off your shoulders and we don’t want to see any unsightly straps a strapless bra is a great idea along with some great firming knickers that tone your stomach to make you feel super gorgeous in whatever you are wearing.

3.) Summer wedding

The summer wedding is the one I always panic about. First of all don’t wear white, but after that it’s up to you. Choose a dress that is the shape you like in a great pastel colour or bright colour. It’s important to feel comfortable with all the photos that will most likely be taken.

If you are the bride then go for some great bridal lingerie. If you are attending a summer wedding then you want some great shapewear that will give you the perfect figure in your dress. We like smoothing all in ones we can wear under our dresses that suck you but also look fabulous by themselves, a real investment piece.

The Only Way Is Essex star Cara Kilbey has stepped out in a very revealing dress. The star is single after having dalliances with men on the set of TOWIE such as flirtation with Mick Norcross. In true TOWIE style Cara was recently in the news for saying that she broke up with her first boyfriend and decided to get a breast augmentation to annoy him. So it was no surprise that she wanted to show off her enhanced assets almost exposing herself in a floor length dress didn’t look intentional.

The star attended the ‘Magic Mike’ premiere and looked a little worse for wear on leaving; Cara was without a bra on this occasion and unfortunately due to the very low neckline of the dress had to spend the entire night holding up her dress. The dress also had a split up the leg and whilst trying to gather her dress to avoid exposing her top she inadvertently exposed her bottom half as she was most likely wearing a thong due to the clingy nature of the dress.

For those of you who haven’t heard of ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ where have you been?  This new book hasn’t been out of the news recently as it continues to grow in popularity. Stories have emerged in the press claiming that  in excess of 20 million copies of the book have now sold.

Some sites have noticed an increase in sales of lingerie alongside the famous book and apparently searches for the term lingerie discounts has increased also. Before the increase in popularity of the famous book in July popular searches were ‘holidays’ and other search words not relating to lingerie or sex.

So what has increased? Lingerie sales in general have increased with some reports claiming that the book has had a positive effect on women’s sex life as well the sales of lingerie. Other more bizarre reports show that the sales of hardware stores have increased with the book referencing certain items to use.
